2016 Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship Recipient
Jill, Chris, and Cassie Brondolo called Autumn Hurd, to announce that she was the recipient of this year’s golf scholarship. Autumn is from South Dakota, has been accepted to Doane University in Crete, Nebraska, where she plans to play collegiate golf. She played high school golf for 4 years, and placed 17th in the state for two years running. She was captain of the golf team and won many awards including MVP, all while maintaining a high GPA. Autumn was also Student Government class President all four years in High School, played volleyball, and has many community service hours.
Autumn will be a part of the Doane University Honors Program, and will major in Pre-medicine. We look forward to her success both on and off the golf course. Congratulations Autumn Hurd!
2015 Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship Recipients
The Caitlin Brondolo Charitable Foundation awarded The 6th Annual Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship on Sunday, July 26, 2015 to two deserving young women. The scholarship, in the amount of $2,500 was established to honor Caitlin’s memory. The board of directors received applications from all around the country after posting the application on the foundation website caitlinfoundation.org and on scholarships.com. Jill, Chris, and Cassie Brondolo called Alexa Popowitz and Mary Janiga, to announce that they were both the recipients of this year’s golf scholarship, being awarded $2,500 each.
The Foundation’s mission of spreading awareness and prevention of carbon monoxide poisoning is brought to fruition through projects such as scholarships, and community education. We wish both recipients a successful career on and off the course!
Alexa Popowitz, Scholarship Recipient 2015
Alexa Popowitz is from Boca Raton, Florida and is a recent graduate of Saint Andrew’s High School. She maintained a high GPA throughout high school, receiving academic honors awards all four years. Alexa played Varsity Golf for seven years (grades 6-12) and was awarded Florida High School Athletic Association District Champion 2013 and 2014. She became Regional Champion in 2014. She qualified for state championships and won 7th in the state her senior year. Alexa has many golf accomplishments and will further her academic and golf career at Georgetown University. She hopes to pursue a degree in International Business. We congratulate Alexa and look forward to her future success.
Mary Janiga, Scholarship Recipient 2015
Mary Janiga, is from Wellington, Florida. She attended American Heritage High School, and has been accepted to Mercer University. Mary will major in International Business while continuing her golf career. Mary had an exceptional high school GPA and was involved in many clubs and organizations. She played golf throughout her school years, became co-captain and played the number one spot two years in a row. Mary has won many area tournments and awards for golf including; Palm Beach County Player of the year three times. Mary’s personal essay exhibited the influence golf has had on her life and included her future golf and personal goals. We congratulate Mary and look forward to her future success.
2014 Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship Recipients
Breanna is the recipient of the 2014 Caitlin Brondolo Charitable Foundation Golf Scholarship. Breanna is from Ohio and has played golf all four years of high school where she led the team to state tournaments. Breanna also qualified for the Ohio golf team twice in the Ohio/Pennsylvania Bi-State Tournament. She maintained a superior GPA in competitive classes, was awarded many academic awards such as; the Academic All-Ohio award in 2013, and participated in several high school extra curricular activities.
Setting her apart from the many applicants is Breanna's volunteer efforts with organizations such as the United Way, U.S. Kids Golf Camp, and YMCA.
Breanna plans to attend Indiana Tech University to play golf and pursue her degree in accounting. We look forward to watching Breanna's success! Congratulations!
2013 Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship Recipients
Franchesca de la Torre is a graduate from Terra Environmental Research Institute in Miami, and has been accepted to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where she plans to play collegiate golf. She played high school Varsity golf for 4 years and led the team as captain all four years. She was named Dade Schools Scholar Athlete and was a GMAC champion for two years. Franchesca also has an impressive GPA and many extra curricular activities. Franchesca states that golf “has given me the tools for confidence and success in all my future pursuits”. We are proud to award the Caitlin Scholarship to a leader both on and off the course. Good Luck Franchesca!
2012 Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to Madalynne Fedoruk who has been awarded the Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship for 2012!
Madalynne is from California and is currently attending Dixie State College of Utah. Madalynne had a superior GPA, and impressive class rank, played four years of Varsity Golf in High School, and was involved in many extracurricular activities. Madalynne is playing collegiate golf at Dixie State while also studying to become a nurse.
The Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship is posted on several websites and is quickly becoming known throughout the golf community. This year Madalynne competed with 27 other applicants received at the foundation to win the one time award of $2,500.00. Funds for the annual Golf scholarship are obtained through donations at our Golf Tournament fundraiser.
Congratulations Madalynne! We look forward to following your success on the course.
2011 Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship Recipients
The Caitlin Brondolo Charitable Foundation awarded the 2nd Annual Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship on, July 26, 2011 to two deserving applicants. Each award was for $2,500. An abundance of scholarship applications were received, after posting the scholarship application on the foundation website www.caitlinfoundation.org and on www.scholarships.com. Criteria for the scholarship include a GPA of 3.5 or higher, acceptance to an accredited college, and plans to play collegiate golf along with past High School golf experience.
Each young woman that applied was at the top of their academic field and headed off to well-known colleges across the United States to play collegiate golf. After a long process, the scholarship committee made their selections. Jill, Chris and Cassie Brondolo were proud to personally call both young women to let them know they were the winners of this year's scholarships.
Courtney Boggs is one of two recipient of the 2011 Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship.
Congratulations to Cortney Boggs, one of our 2011 scholarship recipients! Cortney is from Georgia and has entered Piedmont College, planning to study Exercise Science. While in High School, Cortney was an exceptional scholar athlete playing Varsity Golf all 4 years. She also played Varsity Softball and was active in many clubs and organizations. In addition to winning many area golf awards and tournaments, Cortney also won the Athens Banner Herald's Northeast Georgia 2011 Golfer of the Year. She was 7th in State her Senior year and is the record holder at her Madison County High School for both low 9 hole and low 18 hole. She maintained an impressive 4.0 GPA academically and was ranked 6th in her class upon graduation. Cortney is a leader in her community, as well as on the golf course. We look forward to following her successful career.
Victoria Trapani is one of two recipient of the 2011 Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship.
Congratulations are also in order for Victoria Trapani! Victoria is from Florida and is enrolled at Auburn University, where she will play on the Women's Golf Team. Victoria attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School and maintained an impressive 4.1 GPA. Victoria played Varsity golf all four years of High School and finished 6th in the golf State Tournament. Her list of honors and awards from area tournaments is astounding! She received the Sun-Sentinel and Miami Herald newspapers Player of the Year awards. Victoria also worked at various pro shops and practice ranges during her high school years. We look forward to following her successful career.

Meredith Holt is the recipient of the 2010 Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship.
The Caitlin Brondolo Charitable Foundation awarded The 1st Annual Caitlin Brondolo Golf Scholarship on Monday, July 26, 2010. The scholarship, in the amount of $2,500 was established to honor Caitlin's memory. Caitlin had a passion for golf since the age of 8, and played in many area tournaments. She had dreams of playing collegiate golf and going on to the LPGA. Caitlin lost her life to carbon monoxide poisoning in May of 2009, at the age of twelve.
The board of directors were excited to receive applications from all around the country after posting the application on the foundation website www.caitlinfoundation.org and on www.scholarships.com. Criteria for the scholarship includes a GPA of 3.5 or higher, acceptance to an accredited college, and plans to play collegiate golf along with past High School golf experience.
Jill, Chris, and Cassie Brondolo called Meredith Holt, to announce that she was the recipient of this year's golf scholarship. "After our successful golf tournament, we are pleased to be able to use part of the proceeds to help this young girl pursue her dreams" said Chris Brondolo.
Meredith is from Indiana, has been accepted to Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne University, where she plans to play collegiate golf. She played high school golf for 4 years, and participates in many extra curricular activities. Jill Brondolo, stated: "There were many similar qualities in all the young women that applied. Meredith stood out to us due to her obvious passion for life, golf, and academics."
